The case for Christ is more compelling than the alternative.
Most people never examine the evidence; they inherit a verdict. Nietzsche pronounced it for the modern age: "God is dead. God remains dead. And we have killed him. How shall we comfort ourselves, the murderers of all murderers?". Has modern science actually disproven God? No. Not even close.
The case, climbed one step at a time.
You do not have to accept it all at once. Each rung stands on the one before it. Start wherever your honest doubt begins.
Who or what created the universe?
The confident modern answer, no one and by chance, is aging badly. The constants that run the universe are set so finely that the odds of a life-permitting cosmos arising at random are astronomically small. Physicists call it fine-tuning. The materialist alternatives, countless unseen universes or something from nothing, ask for as much faith as anything they replace. The old certainty that the world simply happened has quietly come undone.
If there is a God, which one?
Grant that the universe was made, and you have crossed a line most people never cross, because of what it implies. Then the question is unavoidable: which God? The field narrows fast. One is corroborated by history and claimed, in different ways, by the three largest faiths on earth: the God of Abraham, Yahweh. Judaism, Christianity, and Islam all trace back to the same source.
What evidence exists? A lifetime's worth.
And the clearest evidence of Yahweh is a single life: the only sinless man ever to walk the earth, Jesus Christ, Yeshua HaMashiach, the Messiah, the only begotten Son. Atheism is the least intelligent, and the funniest, option.
To say with certainty that there is no God, you would have to know everything, to have searched the whole of reality and found Him nowhere. That is not humility; it is a claim to omniscience. And the story it rests on, that everything came from nothing, for no reason, and arranged itself into minds able to doubt it, asks more of your credulity than faith ever has. Remove Abraham's God, and the other religions fall away with Him.
Belief is what matters. In Him.
Strip God from the picture and the things we cannot live without go with Him: truth collapses into opinion, morality into preference, and science loses the ordered, intelligible universe that makes it possible. Every thread, the documented life, the artifacts, the archaeology, the geography, the prophecies fulfilled, the external sources, pulls toward one place. To Jesus Christ.

Historically significant figures who believed in Christ or the God of Scripture, across science, statecraft, letters, and reform. Each names their achievement and their belief, plainly and with sources.

A few things the popular story leaves out, told through the people best placed to know.
Archaeology: the Bible has been a working field map.
Edward Robinson used the text in 1838 to re-identify dozens of lost biblical sites. Hezekiah's Tunnel and its Siloam inscription sit under Jerusalem exactly as 2 Kings describes. The Pilate Stone confirmed the prefect who sentenced Jesus; the Tel Dan Stele names the "House of David." The Dead Sea Scrolls, sealed in the Qumran caves around the time of Christ, handed us Old Testament manuscripts a thousand years older than any known before, including a nearly complete Isaiah that predates Jesus by centuries. Archaeologist Nelson Glueck: "no archaeological discovery has ever controverted a biblical reference."
Science: the people who built it mostly believed.
Newton, Kepler, Boyle, Faraday, Maxwell, Mendel: the founders of physics, astronomy, chemistry, electromagnetism, and genetics were overwhelmingly Christian, and many said their faith drove the work. The "war between science and religion" is a 19th-century story historians have largely retired.
History: a skeptic set out to debunk the Gospels and converted.
Sir William Ramsay began certain that Luke's Acts was late fiction. After tracing its geography and titles on the ground, he called Luke "a historian of the first rank" and came to faith. And even outspoken skeptics like Bart Ehrman affirm that Jesus existed and was crucified; the debate is who he was, not whether.
Genetics: the man who mapped human DNA is a Christian.
Francis Collins led the Human Genome Project, the first full reading of the three billion letters of human DNA, and went on to direct the NIH. An atheist in his youth, he came to faith and wrote The Language of God. He argues, rigorously, that mainstream genetics and Christian belief are not at war.
Popular claims, weighed honestly.
